This year is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I have some exciting news to share with you; I have decided to retire! It has been a privilege to serve you. After more than 32 years of practice, I have decided to shift my life focus significantly. My first child was born thirty five years ago while I was in Optometry School in Boston. She and her four siblings are grown now. One of my goals is to spend a great deal more time with my children and my grandchildren (six and one on the way). In addition, if the Lord wills, I plan to play a more direct role in local and foreign missions. I have loved Optometry and my experience with people like you is one of the reasons why.

This opportunity to retire became ever more appealing when I met Dr. Matt Aaker. Within minutes of our first encounter it became clear that we have a very similar world view and share the same ethical and moral standards. In addition to his proven Optometric skills, Dr. Aaker has demonstrated his commitment to the community by spending hundreds of hours serving the underprivileged as a volunteer in a food pantry and tutoring elementary school children in math and reading. Dr. Aaker is a Graduate of Baylor University where he received the President’s Scholarship all four years. His stellar performance on the Optometry Schools Admissions test earned him another four years as an Academic Scholar at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Dr. Aaker brings a fresh energy and focus to the clinical setting. I’m confident you will really appreciate his vitality and fresh perspective and I’m equally confident that he’ll take excellent care of your visual needs – now, and well into the future.
