Meet Dr. Matt Aaker
Dr. Aaker has been licensed by the Texas Optometry Board as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages while providing expert vision care including hard to fit contact lenses.
He is skilled in the treatment and management of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye, ocular allergies, contact lens related infections, and foreign body removal.
He passionately believes all children should have the best start in life by having yearly eye exams.
Dr. Aaker received the President’s Scholarship to attend Baylor University. During college, he discovered his passion for eye care and creating a thriving optometric practice that provides an exceptional patient experience. At Baylor, he would meet his beautiful and talented wife Genevie before attending Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Aaker received a scholarship for attaining a perfect score in the science section of the Optometry Admissions Test. He completed internships at West Tennessee Eye which has been touted as the most medically advanced optometric practice in the state, and Bossier Family Eye Care which focused on primary eye care for all ages.
Experiencing San Antonio since 2008, he believes it is the greatest city in the country and is an active member of the Bexar County District Optometric Society.
Dr. Aaker is an active member of Crossbridge Community Church and enjoys spending time with friends, family and most of all his wife. He also likes playing basketball and providing eye care on mission trips to Reynosa, Mexico.
